The gleaming stallion smacked his rear leg against the hard stable floor, causing his rider to look up at him, giving him a harsh glare. Paradise planted his foot down again and swung his head around to Angela, biting the ends of her show jacket.

"Get off you wacko!" she said, pushing hard on his nose, causing him to turn away. She rolled her eyes, and continued brushing his burnt-gold coat harshly, trying to get the last of the dirt out. Paradise normally didn't mind harsh brushing sessions, but he appear to be wound up today. He hasn't been shown in a while, so Angela hoped he was just anxious to jump and not in a bad mood.

After the brushing she got the rest of his tack and swung it onto his broad back. Paradise struck his foot again and swished his tail, clearly agitated. Having enough of the his behavior she gave a good hard pat on his rump, causing the him to jump a bit. After that, he did not strike the ground anymore, and stood still while Angela secured his saddle, chestplate and leg protectors. While she was doing this, she still noticed how tense the stallion was. His muscles were tight under his shining coat and his ears swiveled constantly.

When she was done the brunette led him toward the arena to warm up with other riders. She waved and smiled politely at every familiar face, and those faces smiled back and wished her luck in case they didn't see her before show time. When the pair had reached the arena Paradise was fidgety again, muscles twitching with anticipation. Immediately after Angela mounted, the bay didn't wait for his riders signal and trotted into the arena, his body rippling like a dark golden sea as he moved forward. Paradise was certainly one of the bulkier horses here, and along with his striking coat color, he looked more then a suitable opponent. After warming up in the arena it was clear to everyone that Paradise was a powerhouse, and dangerous competition. Angela noticed that he seemed to gain his composure again after the warm up, but she still had her doubts that Paradise would behave himself.
