Tempest

Finally done with this Story and info tomorrow! Promise!

The icy wind and snow pierced Angela's skin and the chill went down to her core. Her eyes squinted through the white, trying to find a sign of the trail. Unfortunately, it was no where to be found. Warren stamped in the snow, frightened. His sense of direction was completely lost. He shook his head in frustration. Angela leaned over and patted his scared shoulder in comfort. The two racers had a run in with a large, black bear, and it had chased them off the marked path of blue and gold ribbons. They had been wandering around for a good half hour, having no idea where they were.

Angela sighed, and pulled her left sleeve up, revealing Fred's watch. He had given it to her, along with his scarf, for good luck. However, good luck was no where to be found. She bit her right glove and pulled it off, exposing her hand to the icy cold. With numb fingers she hit a small button on the watch. The clock flipped up to reveal a compass under it. She turned Warren toward the North-east, at least they would eventually find the cost that way, and hopefully be pointed to the right direction.

She kicked Warren sides and forced him into a trot. His large hooves moved easily through the high snow. The surface was light and powdery, making snow swirl about Warren's feet. While underneath lay heavy, and compact snow. Not knowing if the snow was deep or not, the stallion stumbled time to time, but quickly regained his footing. At every stumble Angela was silently glad she chose to put on his cross country gear.

Suddenly Warren stopped at the top of a hill. Angela looked at the stallion, and then in front of her, seeing something at the bottom of the hill. She squinted, making out a lone piece of wood sticking out of the snow, with ribbon dancing in the wind.

Her heart leaped. FINALLY.

She steered Warren toward the direction of a gentle slope to go down, but Warren had other ideas. He charged down the hill, aiming straight for the ribbons. Angela took hold of Warren neck for dear life as they rocketed down the hill.
